THOMAS ROBINSON SHARP
was the subject of a Civil War Symposium held in Eden, NC on June 25, 2011.
With his family, Tom Sharp spent the last 30 or so years of his life on a large
farm in what later became the Draper section of Eden. He and his wife and
daughter Julia are buried here.

Under Stonewall Jackson, Capt. Thomas Sharp masterminded one of the great railroad heists of all time.
On May 24, 1861, soldiers began to seize some 40 locomotives and nearly 400 railroad cars they had
accumulated and relocated them 130 miles over land.
